Most of the weather stations of Central Weather Bureau (CWB) are in urban areas, where wind speed can be decreased by Friction Effect of landscape. Because wind power turbines will be established in coastal areas, we have estimated the wind speed of coastal areas around Taiwan. To do so we have used the Beaufort wind force scale which is based on the wave height data from ocean observatories around Taiwan.

We have estimated wind speed and ROI (gross profit) of coastal areas around Taiwan as follows.
